Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Community Team
Community Midwives
Our community midwife works with the doctors to provide care of mothers before and after delivery and care of babies in the first 28 days of life. Booked appointments only.
Community Nurses
The community nurses provide nursing care and advice to patients in their own homes. They liaise with hospitals and other specialised nurses and services such as Home Care, Social Services, The Macmillan Unit and chiropody. They can arrange extra support for patients who require long term care.
Health Visitors
Health Visitors are qualified nurses who have received specialist training in child and family health. Early detection of ill health, monitoring of growth and development and health promotion are their responsibility, with particular reference to mothers, babies and children under 5 years old. The health visitor liaises closely with the GPs, other members of the nursing team, children’s centres and professions allied to medicine such as Speech Therapists, Special Educational Needs Coordinators and Social Workers. The health visitors have knowledge of the facilities and resources available to families and children in the area. They will see clients at home or in the surgery. The Health Visitor will be pleased to talk to you about any aspect of your family’s health.

Oversee and coordinate office operations and procedures to ensure organisational effectiveness and efficiency. The office supervisors establish, maintain and develop professional relationships between the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal service is delivered.

Reception
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses and are required to ask for basic details regarding your problem. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Prescription Clerks
The prescription clerks provide support to our clinicians in the receipt and preparation of repeat prescriptions for our patients. They work very closely with the practice pharmacist, PCN pharmacy team and community pharmacies.
